For those of you who are visiting for the first time:
I have created more than 25 books for children over the past 20 years.
A website is a great way to see my entire collection of work together.
I hope my site will be fun and informative for kids, teachers, librarians,
parents, and all people interested in picture books.
For those of you returning:
The latest addition to the site includes my NEW BOOK, THE
MOON... BOB IS BACK IN HARDCOVER... MORE
ACTIVITIES... RECENT AWARDS... NEW PUPPY
PICTURES... SKETCHBOOK DRAWINGS...
enjoy exploring the new and the old!
Events
I am enjoying visiting schools and spending time with students and
teachers. This spring I am traveling to Ohio, New York, New
Hampshire, Florida and schools here in Vermont. Spring in Vermont
often includes several inches of snow.
Friday, May 11th from 6:30-7:30, I
will be at a Pajamarama fundraiser
for the Stern Center at the Barnes and Noble in South Burlington, VT.
Wednesday, May 16, I am looking
forward to being the Endnote Speaker at the Vermont
Library Conference at the Sheraton in Burlington Vermont.
I always enjoy speaking to librarians. Because so many of my stories
come from my community, sharing my work with fellow Vermonters is
especially rewarding. Burlington is a great town, especially in May...the
snow should be gone by then! I hope to see you there.

THE MOON
Fall 2006
Written by Robert Louis Stevenson illustrated by Tracey Campbell
Pearson
Published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux
In my version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s poem THE MOON, a
mom and new baby stay home, while the father and child go on their
own moonlight adventure. It is a quiet celebration of their relationship
and of the magic of the night. To find out more about THE MOON,
including sketches, activities and information about Robert Louis
Stevenson ,click on the cover.

WHAT SCHOOLS ARE DOING...
I continue to be "wowed" when I visit schools. Last
fall I was “eye to beak” with a bigger than life-size
Bob created by students, parents and teachers at Cape Elizabeth
Elementary School in Maine. Imagine taking your favorite character
from a book and creating a life-size figure to keep you company!
Bob is made out of paper mache with a wire skeleton. His heavy
clay feet keep him from flying away. Click on Bob to see what other
schools have done with him!
